THE HOLY GRIND - CHAIN OF COMMAND
CLEARANCE LEVEL - ONE
The Department of Peace and Nuclear Annihilation
(PANA) holds a pivotal position at the apex of the chain of command, acting as the final authority for addressing large-scale external threats to The Holy Grind. It is the cornerstone of strategic decision-making, directly overseeing deterrence measures and escalation protocols to ensure the nation's survival. PANA coordinates closely with other military and governmental agencies, serving as the primary bridge between central command and field operations during global crises or existential challenges. Its leadership is deeply embedded in the highest levels of governance, ensuring its directives are prioritized across all sectors.
PANA's responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum of missions critical to the safety and continuity of The Holy Grind. It manages the nation’s nuclear arsenal, supervising all aspects of deployment, maintenance, and strategic readiness. The department also directs advanced space programs, including satellite networks and orbital platforms, which provide essential intelligence, communication, and global strike capabilities. In addition, PANA spearheads efforts to counter foreign threats, overseeing large-scale military engagements and ensuring that any conflict is resolved swiftly and decisively to maintain national stability and operational efficiency. PANA is directed by Duke Josh, who shares ultimate authority over the nuclear arsenal with His Excellency, The Holy Grind, ensuring mutual oversight.
CLEARANCE LEVEL - TWO
The Holy Grind Army
The Holy Grind Army is a diverse and highly flexible force responsible for addressing any land-based threats within The Holy Grind. The Army is made up of several components: elite special forces, the regular army, national guard units, and a range of decentralized, sometimes unruly people’s militia units. The special forces are highly trained for covert operations, sabotage, and precision strikes, while the regular army consists of well-equipped airborne units, motorized guards, and mechanized infantry, capable of handling a wide array of threats. National guard units focus on local territorial defense, ensuring the security of the homeland, while the militias, often regional and autonomous, provide additional manpower for defense, though with less centralized command. Together, they form a comprehensive defense force, prepared to respond to any land-based dangers.
In addition to protecting The Holy Grind’s borders, the Army maintains a formidable projection capability. The special forces and regular units can be deployed on foreign soil for military “peace-keeping” operations, working to ensure national interests are upheld across distant regions. The Army's presence is solidified by a network of military bases, with the primary garrison located near the capital and others spread throughout the various regions of The Holy Grind. This extensive base system ensures rapid deployment and logistical support for operations both within the nation and abroad. The Army’s adaptability, from peacekeeping to territorial defense, makes it a key pillar in the nation’s overall security strategy.
Due to recent hard times, The Holy Grind has become increasingly dependent on mercenary groups for certain operations, a development that has raised concerns within the Army about the potential weakening of the nation’s defensive posture and reliance on external forces.
The Holy Grind Navy
The Holy Grind Navy is a highly specialized branch of the military responsible for patrolling the nation’s waterways, defending against piracy, hostile foreign forces, aquatic creatures, and conducting amphibious operations in coordination with the army. Its primary base of operations is located at Gilltown, a strategic northern shore hub vital for logistics, ship repair, and launching large-scale amphibious assaults. The Gilltown Naval Academy trains the Navy’s officers, focusing on both naval strategy and practical combat, ensuring new recruits are prepared for the Navy’s unique mix of modern warfare and historical tactics. The academy emphasizes adaptability to the Navy’s distinctive fleet, which combines older, but heavily fortified ironclads with Cold War-era ships bought from the USSR as it dissolved.
The fleet itself is an eclectic and powerful mix, featuring modernized 1860s ironclads known for their thick armor and firepower, alongside Cold War ships offering advanced technology and versatility. This unusual combination allows the Navy to respond effectively to a wide range of threats, from piracy to large-scale foreign invasions. The Navy also maintains a fleet of submarines for underwater defense and extended reach. The diverse mix of vessels—ranging from imposing ironclads to stealthy, high-tech submarines—gives the Holy Grind Navy a significant presence on the water, capable of handling everything from coastal defense to complex, multi-faceted military operations. all at relatively low costs.
The Navy often clashes with the Army for funding, leading to some often comical tensions between the two branches of service...
Special Protocol Emergency Counter-Terror Entity Recovery
SPECTER is an elite organization led by its founder, JFSdragonfire, tasked with neutralizing and managing unconventional threats to The Holy Grind. Operating outside traditional military response, SPECTER specializes in the containment of anomalous entities, artifacts, and existential risks that threaten the nation. Its operatives, a blend of highly trained militarized field agents and specialized researchers, work in tandem to address both immediate dangers and long-term threats to The Holy Grind.
The organization is split between its tactical and intellectual divisions. Field agents are deployed for on-the-ground response, using advanced technology and combat expertise to neutralize threats in real-time. Meanwhile, SPECTER's researchers and occult experts study the artifacts, analyze anomalous phenomena, and interrogate captured subjects to understand their origins and potential dangers. Any discovered threats are contained, studied, and erased from the public record to prevent the spread of misinformation and mitigate alarmist hysteria. SPECTER's research spans the occult, supernatural, and otherworldly, developing countermeasures to safeguard The Holy Grind from emerging, destabilizing forces.
CLEARANCE LEVEL - THREE
The National Park Service
The National Park Service (NPS) is a critical agency tasked with the protection and preservation of The Holy Grind's natural environment, as well as the security and management of its vast national parks. They are led by King Reginald IV. The service is made up of two primary divisions: the Guards and the Rangers. The Guards are responsible for manning watchtowers throughout the national parks, ensuring the safety and protection of the environment from human interference, illegal activities, and natural disasters. They also conduct important ecological and geological surveys, monitoring the health of the land and wildlife to ensure sustainable practices for future generations. Their work often involves regular patrols, maintenance of park infrastructure, and close monitoring of ecosystems to detect any signs of imbalance or threat.
The Rangers are the elite of the NPS, heavily armed and specially trained to handle the most dangerous tasks within the parks. Operating at a special forces level, they are called upon for high-risk rescue operations, security interventions against poachers, and to neutralize any significant threats, including dangerous wildlife or human intruders. Rangers also handle investigations into cryptid sightings, responding to reports of unexplained phenomena in remote regions of the wilderness. The NPS Rangers are known for their courage and versatility, constantly facing the most challenging environmental and security situations. The NPS is always recruiting highly motivated and daring individuals—from retired servicemen and biologists to gamekeepers, ex-bandits, and trail guides—who are passionate about the outdoors and eager to protect The Holy Grind’s natural treasures. The work is dangerous, but rewarding, with every day offering new challenges and adventures, from tracking megafauna to investigating cryptic wilderness phenomena.
Federal Investigation Bureau
The FIB (Federal Investigation Bureau) is The Holy Grind's premier law enforcement agency, tasked with investigating and dismantling criminal organizations, including bandit gangs, and addressing large-scale criminal activities that threaten national security. Operating with a reputation for fearlessness and efficiency, the FIB tackles everything from high-profile heists to organized crime syndicates, and they are particularly focused on the recent rise of so called "motorbandits". The FIB’s central office is based in Grindenburg, the capital, where top officials coordinate nationwide investigations, but agents are frequently dispatched into the field to track down criminals across the country.
FIB agents are a distinctive sight in the countryside, roaming in their iconic black suits, suspenders, fedoras, and armed with Colt 1925 machine rifles, their presence striking both fear and respect into those they pursue. These field agents, known for their meticulous investigation techniques and relentless drive, track down leads, gather intelligence, and bring down even the most elusive criminal networks. Their blend of sharp investigative minds and old-school style makes them instantly recognizable, and their commitment to justice is unwavering—whether they’re infiltrating bandit hideouts, chasing down criminal convoys, or uncovering hidden syndicates. The FIB’s motto: “No crime too big, no criminal too clever” reflects their relentless pursuit of justice across The Holy Grind’s rugged terrain.
